Memory

In evening sun
my son dreams

His eyes roll frantically
beneath their snowflake
thin lids and he cries

Without waking an
unfamiliar sound not
hunger isolation
boredom discomfort

The anxiety
of a memory
of what

His heart was calm
as he passed from
womb to air

Something deeper then
the effort of his incarnation.
